Troubleshooting Common Navigation Issues

GPS shows no signal or wrong location
This is often temporary and related to your surroundings — tunnels, parking garages, dense urban canyons, and heavy tree cover can all weaken GPS signal. Give the system a minute once you're back in the open.
Built-in navigation won't accept a destination
Try re-entering the address in a slightly different format (e.g. city and state without abbreviations), or search for a nearby point of interest instead of a raw street address.
Android Auto or CarPlay maps won't display
Check the USB cable (if wired) or Bluetooth/Wi-Fi pairing (if wireless), confirm your phone's maps app has location permission enabled, and try restarting both the phone and the vehicle's infotainment system.
MySubaru app shows an outdated vehicle location
The app generally relies on the vehicle periodically checking in; location can lag if the vehicle has been off for a while or is in an area with weak cellular coverage. Try refreshing the app after the vehicle has been running briefly.
Map data feels out of date
Built-in maps update periodically rather than continuously. Check your owner's manual or Subaru's official site for the current update process and schedule for your model year.
SOS or automatic collision notification questions
These are safety features tied to an active subscription; general functionality questions can often be answered in your owner's manual, but any billing or account-specific issue should go to official support.
Touchscreen freezing or slow to respond
A soft reset (often a button combination or a brief power cycle, depending on the system) can resolve many freezing issues; check your owner's manual for your model's specific reset procedure.
Voice commands not recognizing navigation requests
Try speaking clearly after the prompt tone, reduce background noise (windows up, radio down), and check whether your system requires a specific phrase to start a navigation voice command.
